Facts about the rivers and details outlining the assortment of cruise and cruisetour options.
A: River Cruises are ideal for travellers looking for intimacy, tranquility and accessibility. The smaller size of the ships allows them to dock right in heart of historic cities so you can walk off the ship and begin exploring immediately! This also allows them to dock overnight in several ports giving you further time to explore but without the hassle of transferring to a hotel. Each line offers a variety of itineraries all focusing on history, architecture, scenery and culture. Breathtaking views are continuous and abundant with River Cruises. They are also great for people with motion sickness as they are on calmer waters then ocean bound ships.
A: River Cruises include your accommodation, all meals, wine & beer with lunch and dinner, escorted local tours in each port, bottle water, premium coffee & tea throughout your cruise, local evening entertainment and Wi-Fi.
A: As with most lines gratuities are not included. Gratuities can be charged at the end of your cruise to your credit card or paid daily in cash, depending on your preference. Local currency is recommended for tipping and you can visit the FAQ on your cruise line site for tipping guidelines or ask you cruise specialist for details.
While there are tours included at each port, some guests may wish to add on additional excursions or partake in separate tours. These excursions would be at an additional cost but it should be noted that they are usually very exclusive and intimate and well worth it!
Beverages purchased in the lounge and outside of meal service are also at an additional cost. However, guests are welcome to purchase local wines and spirits in port and enjoy them in their guest rooms or, on some lines, with dinner and without paying a corkage fee.
A: River Cruises will accommodate group bookings with group sizes varying depending on cruise line. Usually the minimum number of passengers required to qualify as a group is 12. There is no maximum group size, other than the size of the ship. Ships range from 30-300 passengers.
A: The onboard language for all River Cruises is English.

A: Many European itineraries will be in Euro’s. Both as the onboard currency and the currency accepted in ports. The onboard currency for several other itineraries, such as China and Russia, may be in US dollars but it is dependent on Cruise Line. It is best to speak with your cruise specialist regarding what to expect for onboard currency and local ports.
Your onboard account can be settled to your credit card which will offer you the best exchange rate, should your cruise be a foreign currency. A credit card should be accepted by most merchants in ports as well, however, it is recommended to bring some local currency for tipping tour guides and making small purchases.
The cruise lines generally will not be able to exchange money for you so it is recommended to bring some cash that can be exchanged for local currency at a bank or currency exchange. It is also best to verify with your bank, prior to travel, that you bank card or credit card will work in ATM’s overseas should you wish to withdrawal cash as needed.
