AmaWaterways Wine River Cruises not just for Wine Lovers

AmaWaterways was the first in the river cruising industry to offer a series of sailings tailored to please oenophiles. What’s great about the line’s wine river cruises as noted by AmaWaterways Executive Vice President and Co-Owner Kristin Karst is, “you don’t have to be a wine aficionado to enjoy them. These seasonal departures are offered only in the spring and fall, when there are fewer tourists, milder weather, and beautiful flowers or colorful autumn foliage.”

Regularly scheduled excursions are still available and wine lovers can partake in wine-themed activities without any extra costs. Experiences include visits to famous vineyards and wineries, as well as meeting the local wine makers and enjoying private tastings. As these trips are hosted by a wine expert, the immersive learning experience continues onboard.

Which wine regions do you want to explore?

Is it Burgundy and the Rhone? Champagne? The Douro Valley? Wachau Valley? Alsace? AmaWaterways offers wine focused sailings on routes taking you through these regions. There are seven different itineraries to choose from and since spring is just around the corner, some sailings are fast approaching, too. You may not get the stateroom you want, but there’s availability on these last minute river cruises. Here’s a look at what you can take advantage of at the time of writing (remember, you’ll have to contact us for live pricing and availability):
